• Organic farming and sustainable practices

Biotech Farm Holland is committed to the principles of cultivés sans pesticides ni produits chimiques farming, which means the complete absence of chemical pesticides and synthetic fertilizers in our crops. We implement sustainable practices such as crop rotation and using natural compost, helping to enrich the soil and reduce the depletion of natural resources. Our greenhouses have water management systems that optimize irrigation to limit waste. Additionally, we use biological control methods to protect crops from pests without harming the environment. Our products are, therefore, healthier for consumers and respectful of local biodiversity, fostering a deep connection with nature. This approach reduces the ecological footprint of our production while offering high-quality vegetables that meet international organic standards.

• Contribution to local food security

Our commitment to local food security is demonstrated by the consistent production of fresh and nutritious vegetables accessible to Rwandan consumers all year round. By growing products in greenhouses, we reduce dependence on the seasons, thus allowing a stable supply even during unfavourable climatic conditions. By supporting local agriculture, we also help reduce Rwanda’s dependence on food imports, making products more affordable and strengthening the local economy. This affordability empowers the local community economically. Our organic growing practices promote the population’s health by offering products without chemical residues, aligned with public health recommendations. In addition, we work with local partners to promote healthy eating habits and raise community awareness of the benefits of organic products.

Support for the community through job creation and agricultural training

Biotech Farm Holland places community support at the heart of its mission by creating local jobs and providing hands-on training in sustainable agriculture. We recruit and train workers from Bumbogo and surrounding areas, providing them with skills in cultivés sans pesticides ni produits chimiques organic farming, which is increasingly demanding expertise. Our employees acquire skills in greenhouse management, organic production and ecological practices through regular training sessions. These professional opportunities not only allow workers to earn a stable income but also play a significant role in strengthening the local economy and improving the well-being of families.

•Our commitment to the community goes even further, as we support the children of the most deprived families in Bumbogo and the neighboring Kinyinya sector by offering them school scholarships. Thanks to this program, children from vulnerable families can access education, which opens up future prospects for them and contributes to the social development of the region. Furthermore, we organize workshops and educational sessions for local farmers, sharing our knowledge and encouraging sustainable and profitable agriculture in the region, creating a lasting positive impact in the community.
